It should be noted that with all the cuts I made to the movie, it now runs a trim 96 minutes. That number might go up another minute or two, but I've essentially cut ten minutes of useless crap, and the whole thing runs much tighter.
I think the best improvement is that the movie no longer grinds to a halt every time someone tells a joke. All the "funny" bits in the movie followed this awful pattern where it would be moving along, then stop-JOKE-start back up. Trimming one-liners and unnecessary humorous asides brings the movie to a much more even tone.
