This wouldn't be to someone at random, which is what spam is, and we could give the E-Mails a user-specific signature.
Actually, my definition of spam is more restictive than that.

I define spam as unsolicited, unwelcome emails that, regardless of the source, serve only to inform me of a product, service, or news without any direct communication between the sender and myself.

There's a fine line in my book between sending out a blanket email saying "check out my kewl new website" (which I would find acceptable, as it's a direct request between the sender and myself, and it potentially creates a new link between them and me, assuming that I know the person), and an email that says "check out this kewl website i just found" which, in addition to being totally devoid of content (the sender could just drop in the link without the message and the email would be the same thing), it is also just an advertisment for someone else.

However, as it is the person who is doing the deed, and not the website, when I have problems with people doing it to me, I take it up with the person, not the website.

However, such a feature here would probably only be used once or twice a year, another reason why I'm not opposed to doing it.
