I dunno, I just kinda threw it in there. I guess that makes me just as guilty as B&B. Without it, I think it would make a fine series finale. I'm not even sure I'll keep it, but I thought since it's a season finale, and Archer isn't leaving the show, then the audience needs SOMETHING to string it along, just not the ridiculous Nazi thing. As an audience we need to know that Archer is still alive, and there's a mystery to be solved. The Nazi ending accomplishes that, but in an absurd and laughably bad way, and destroys the emotional closure we need after this long arc.
