I was lurking the startrekbbs, about to post a response to starfleet commander's post about trek fans wanting blood, when I realized I don't care about Trek conversations. I just gloss over the political discussions, so I kinda post in the misc. posts when I feel like it.

So I got to wondering, why do I still go there? And I couldn't come up with an answer, except maybe to try to indirectly promote this place. So I was wondering, well...

Do you still post on Trekweb?

I chose "Trekwebs to big...." but that's not why I don't post there. I don't post there for a bunch of reasons, most of which involve Deus, or Jason Boxman, or of course, Steve's reluctance to do anything about either of them. (Although I suppose Jason is gone now...)

I still post there, out of boredom and looking for info on things TREK. Some cool people and some tactless jackasses too.

Recently, Eric Stillwell began posting there, but he's not posting about Star Trek or the Dead Zone, he chose politics to discuss. I suspect that he won't discuss Trek or DZ because of any professional obligations or affiliations. I thought he was some kid at first cause he was being really obnoxious with his number of posts on the same things. I went to his site and realized why that name seemed so familiar. I think he hates me now

But I'm not going to let anyone intimidate me from posting. The biggest assholes there either ignore me or we have "freindly" dialogues about stuff. Still, I find the discussions there to be pretty intelligent most of the time, and the trolls are soooooo amusing. Which reminds me, I saw a post by Bean there the other day :P j/k

Stillwell actually began posting on TW shortly after I did (with my current account). I remember the "What do you do" thread where he told us of his affiliation with Trek. So, I knew exactly who/what he was when he started re-posting lately.

My reply wasn't in the list so I guess I'll have to respond here.... not no, but HELL NO! and I think most of you know why.

Jason might be gone? well, now maybe Steve might actually get off his butt and do something with that site.

Yeah, Jason basically quit, although Steve won't say that. But the site still sucks for some of the same reasons. Just different people than Jason, with the same asshole attitudes.

I don't pay much attention to the Star Trek threads anymore, because little in Trek today is worth discussing. My main reason for staying on TrekWeb is the not-too-big, not-too-small size of the community, as well as the political chatter. And even that is beginning to bore me, because the arguments are starting to go in circles, with everyone saying the same thing in the same way.

Too bad the content of the threads doesn't match the superb job Steve's done revamping the board software.

Greetings Jay,

Yeah, I don't see why Steve doesn't just designate a board for hot button issues like other boards do. I used to think that would be a bad idea, but on the main board it's either politics or people trying to discuss general TREK or trolls looking for attention.

Whoever TheeBlueWolf is, he seems to think that everyone cares about his signature image. I think he should use this one---> :noob:
But for the most part, it's probably not much different than it was when I joined, I'm just used to it now.

I voted the sometimes, but I like this place more, but what I really meant was I extremely rarely post or lurk at Trekweb, and I like this place a hell of a lot more.

I always felt that TrekWeb was quite a small "community", because the most prominent posters weren't really that big in number, there was maybe 15 people who I would recognise under a different name, and a further 20 who I would sorta know.

I'm also sick of seeing O.Deus, full stop(period). Nobody can tell me that when he was saying SG1 was too fun and not enough depth, they weren't thinking "Sounds like you, minus the fun part". I swear, if O.Deus ever had a bit of fun in the last 10 years, then Margaret Thatcher is the most attractive woman on Earth.
