Default Wow. So copying music to the iPod is illegal in Canada

Whod'a thunk it?

Further, today's decision represents a serious blow to the iPod, which has been an incredible boon to the music industry. Simply put, copying store bought CDs onto iPods, as CRIA’s own Graham Henderson has supported, may now be unlawful in Canada since it is difficult to find an exception within the Copyright Act that would permit that form of copying. While perhaps some in the industry may think this is a good thing as it transitions users to re-purchase the same music yet again as MP3 files from services such as iTunes, I think it will ultimately lower the value that consumers associate with music to the detriment of everyone in the industry.

So basically, since I don't own an MP3 player or portable audio device, the CRIA can stick this ruling right up their collective asses, while I listen to the (currently) 7326 mp3s I have on my hardrive that I have never paid for in any way.

Yep yep yep.. I care.. really..

The only thing that bothers me is the idea that someday the manufacturers and distributors of adult DVD's and videos are gonna start throwing the same fit. If they found out the amount of porn I have on my hard drive, I think I would be absolutley fucked...

Wouldn't it actually be the opposite?

Yeah, but they're too smart to sue their own customer base.

Although, it would be fun to hear the adult entertainment industry put out some of the same BS that the RIAA/MPAA are. Imagine the adult entertainment industry start talking about all the people who are going to be unemployed and starving if filesharers have their way.

Then imagine Jenna Jameson standing on the side of the road holding up a sign that says "Suck for a Buck"

Actually, you'd think that they'd be better off getting cooperation from most of the people they'd go after. I mean the majority of people who watch porn would rather not have it advertised to the general public that they do so... Personally I wouldn't care, but alot of people would capitulate to a huge list of demands when put in that situation.

And the idea of Stacy Valentine on the side of the road with that sign is much more appealing.
