![]() | I remember discussing this on TW back when ENT was on the air. I was talking about how tv shows like ENT won't survive unless they're tailor made for the viewership. Also, people will pay for their television in a way similar to the MP3 market, television commercials will be a thing of the past, or at least only seen on broadcast television. The dweeb on TrekWeb said something to the effect that I was wrong about all of my "predictions" I believe. What he didn't understand is how money motivates change. Well, it's time this has happened, and I'm happy for it. btw, Google is also on the verge of releasing laptop computers for $200.00. |

![]() | Although, in principle I agree, I already watch TV on my laptop routinely. My next system upgrade will be a media PC with a wireless connection to my regular TV. When that happens, I'll be happy to download TV series, and watch them in the living room.

![]() | The computer will continue to be a terminal by which you can accrue digitized entertainment. There's no reason to watch a downloaded movie on the computer screen with some of the new technology coming out today. Imagine watching "The New Voyages" on a giant plasma screen tv? that would rock:P |

| Astro-Monkey | I guess I'm looking at it from a different perspective. I have a DVR, so in lieu of downloading television shows, I record them directly. I don't care about 'what if I miss a program', because I don't. So, I don't see the reason to turn the PC into the 'swiss army knife' of home entertainment. My solution is segmented. If my PC goes down, I can still watch TV the way I want to. If my DVR hard drive goes, I still have all my saved documents.

| Religious Fanatic | I can't say I'm too impressed with "The New Voyages", the props, sets, and costumes are dead on, the effects are better than the original(naturally), but the writing/acting just ain't right IMO.
