![]() | A hundred and twenty-five fucking dollars to apply for a teacher's license. Gee, I'm fucking glad someone told me that before I drove to the goddamn DoE today. Fuck Mitt Romney and his retarded education plan. The man's an idiot, and I sincerely hope noone here decides to vote for him if he does that Presidential bid he keeps publicizing. God damn I want to punch him in the face. I thought I was done with him when I left college after he gutted public education. ![]()

![]() | Wow, what a scam Romney has going. Given that parents are always bitching about the quality of schools, you'd think that the board of education would make it attractive for people to become teachers. There's no reason why it should cost $125.00 to process that paperwork. |

![]() | This is, of course, in addition to the $180 fee to take the teacher test.

![]() | After all that, what can you expect to be paid? Not that I'm a money grubbing scumbag, but the piss-poor pay that teachers tend to get is the exact reason why I didn't go into teaching. I have a passion for it, but I also want to do more that 'get by' on the typical teacher's salary. IMO, since teachers are the ones that are producing tomorrow's doctors, lawyers, police, etc., they should be paid really well, so as to attract higher quality educators. Fucktard politicians.

You will, however, find numerous politicians who are somehow convinced that education just isn't an important part of life...

| Religious Fanatic | Actually, it's probably got more to do with fucktard voters.

![]() | A lot of what he did was after he got elected - made promises, then went back on them, etc.

| Religious Fanatic | As far as I can tell, the phenomenon of underfunded public schools and low-paid schoolteachers and in partucular, is more of a general US thing, rather than the policy of a specific politician or state. And as for the part about "You won't find a single educator anywhere in the world will disagree.", I'd like to add that you won't find many people in general who'd disagree with you if you told them they deserved more money (or that their boss deserved less, for that matter). I find that the best thing to do is to play the game by making the most money you can with the least amount of possible effort, which is why I'd never become a public servant, I'd be too compelled to do a good job because it's something I actually care about, which would leave me all tired and disgruntled.

![]() | The U.S. government doesn't want intellectually minded young people, especially with the shrinking U.S. job market. Too many unemployed smart people will lead to radical social change and that would screw up the global domination program. |
