| The Awesome One | My girlfriend recently sat down and made an effort to share with me my love of video games. I started her off on Worms 2. She loves it. We play it daily and she's gotten quite proficient at it. I'd like to get her playing more games, as Worms is a tad repetitive after awhile. Now I'm not suggesting we sit down and play Neverwinter Nights or anything, but something a step up from worms. Any suggestions?

| "It's a faaaake!" | Knights of the Old Republic. I'm serious. Women usually prefer games with deep stories and strong characters. And in KOTOR, unlike in Neverwinter Nights, actors speak the dialogue, so players don't need to read what everyone says. Both gender options in KOTOR also have nice love stories, either on the dark side or the light side. ![]()

![]() | "Burnout: Revenge" is fairly popular amongst the females in my circle. They especially like the crash mini-games where you get to slam into busy intersections to rack up the highest score. I once made a crack about how realistic it was when they played it, and got a few unkind words...

| The Awesome One | I never thought of KOTOR. I love both of those games. Maybe in a few weeks I'll take a look for it. Until then I'd like to find something of a more "intermediate" level.

| The Awesome One | Really? Are you guys serious? I've seen guitar hero, and immediatley thought it was akin to the NES' various add ons like the little mat that you jump around on, and the powerglove etc... I also can't help but immediatley think of "Britney's Dance Beats" when I see a commercial for guitar hero.

![]() | "Guitar Hero" is essentially "Dance Dance Revolution" with a guitar instead of jumping around on the mat. But the songs are great (there's a mix of licensed tracks and covers from huge bands like Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Rage Against the Machine and many more covering several decades and genres of rock) and there's a sense of humor to the whole thing that make it really stand out.
