![]() | Y'know... I don't see the need why I should be so totally shit upon all the time. I understand that I actually have a pretty good life; I'm in good health, I have a steady job and friends and a nice apartment and lots of nice things. But there's a constant flow of small, craptacular things that keep happening to me on a steady enough basis that I spend a lot of time just being really annoyed. For example, today I went into the local Apple store and bought myself an iPod Touch. Nifty device. A little pricey, but, I think, worth it. The box says I need Windows XP. Sure. I've got that. So I buy it, I bring it home, unpack it and plug it in. "Please plug this iPod into a computer using 32-bit Windows XP or Vista". Oh, you have got to be fucking shitting me. Turns out, yep, my stylish, fancy new $400 iPod is a stylish, fancy new $400 waste of my fucking time. I go to the website, of course, and find that in small print somewhere it says that, yes, we have no bananas... and no 64-bit support for the iPod Touch. But nowhere on the box does it say this, nor in any of the documentation INSIDE the box. No one mentioned it at the Apple Store. So now, here I am, wondering if I should attempt to install a 32-bit operating system (not having been able to find a workaround after about an hour of web-searching) so I can enjoy my stylish, fancy new $400 time-waster-mp3-player-dealie. And then I had to go to work. That sucked.

| The Awesome One | You see, this is why I just spend my money on beer... On a serious note though, I wouldn't bother installing a whole new operating system. The way I see it, if Apple wants you to have the product, they'll make it compatible with your OS. If they don't, their loss. There are plenty of other similar products on the market that I'm sure have 64 bit support. If you really want to go hard on them, check out the Zune ![]()

![]() | It's not really like a whole new OS, since I'd just be switching from the 64-bit Windows XP to the 32-bit. But yeah, I'm gonna give it a couple days before I decide what to do.

![]() | So I never used to be so pissed off at Apple. Today was the release of iTunes 7.6 which brings us, drumroll, 64-bit support... FOR WINDOWS VISTA. XP, of course, is left out for some reason that only God and Steve Jobs understands. The previous version would install and would run, but would give me an error message when I opened the program stating that it wasn't installed properly, but everything functioned fine. 7.6 on the other hand, won't even install - I've been systematically cut out of using iTunes simply because of my operating system. Bull-fucking-shit. On top of that, Apple introduces a software upgrade for my iPod Touch that finally gives us the Mail, Maps, Notes, Stocks and Weather apps... but is charging $20 for it. New iPod Touch's purchased at the store comes with these apps FOR FREE that should have COME FOR FREE TO BEGIN WITH FOUR MONTHS AGO. GUH.

| Religious Fanatic | Agreed. Apple are just Microsoft without the reputation.
