Default Takei in Star Trek: New Voyages

So, I watched the first one of these a long while back, and while I was impressed with the work that went into it, I felt it was pretty damn awful.

I haven't seen episode 2 yet, mostly cause I can't be bothered trying to find a decent mirror of it in the labyrinth STNV site, but I'm in the middle of watching episode 3 right now, and I have to say it's already much better. They've got professional writers now and some professional actors, and it just goes to show you that working in entertainment isn't as easy as it looks. I mean, George Takei's never been someone I've considered a great actor, but the difference between him and Cawley (the fag who plays Kirk) is immense, Takei fucking owns the scenes he's in with presence alone, and whenever he speaks my disbelief is suspended a lot more than it usually is when I watch NV.

It looks like early Starfleet menus were carb heavy and mullets predated pointy sideburns

LOL.

I actually finished watching the whole episode, and I'm impressed. Cinematography and lighting has improved leaps and bounds, and the writing was spot on. The biggest flaw is that the dude playing Scotty is useless, and the attempted accent is incredibly distracting.
