Wink The truth about Windows Vista

As a happy user of Windows Vista for almost two years now, the vitriol against it from some corners of the Internet has often mystified me. Certainly, Vista can be the host of maddening events, but the same is no less true of the now-beloved XP, and it's often more the fault of lazy software writers and hardware vendors than it is of the OS. The hatred of Vista seems to flow more from reflexive anti-Microsoft bias than actual deficiencies in the software.

So I'm glad Koroush Ghazi of Tweakguides.com has written a fair appraisal of Vista: "Vista Annoyances Resolved."

So does this mean I should upgrade from 98SE?

I loathe the preaching of some computer enthusiasts about what hardware or software people should use.

Use whatever works for you.

I think the reason for a lot of the preaching is that it's precisely what people don't do. If your system starts crashing or slowing down everytime you install Norton, DON'T FUCKING USE NORTON!

The truth about Windows Vista is that it sucks balls, it's the biggest bunglejob for MS in over a decade and they've been trying desperately for over a year to make up for it while a full one-third of their corporate users downgrade to XP and resellers extend XP sales for popular demand.

Nobody I've seen express such an opinion has been able to support it with facts and experience, but maybe you'll be an exception.

So nobody has answered me. Is 98SE still ok?

I dunno if 98 would support my new graphics card which I just got today and haven't got anything to try it maxed out with.
