That's true of any technological advancement though.
That is true. But at what point do we consider technology better or worse for man-kind as a whole?

Ever watch Wall*E? Could that be wahts in store for our future generations? Just sit back and let the machines do everything for you... even wipe your ass... while you becme fat, lazy and feble minded

EDIT: Before I flammed up I should add that yes, advancements in technology have come a long way and has made improvments in our lives, and it is a necessary step in the advancement of man. I'm just saying maybe it's time to slow down for a minute

And this stuff of big corporations spending millons of dollars just to make a robot play music, dance and serve tea is kinda stupid I think

Most of those obviously ridiculous actions are programmed in for a specific reason. The playing of musical instruments is designed to push the boundaries of robot dexterity, dancing and serving beverages are designed to better advance robot stability and balance.

I hope that's what's in store for future generations - where we no longer have to think about making sure people aren't dying of starvation or motivating people to work. It'd make capitalism and communism as obsolete as the ideologies that preceded them.

Unless it somehow hurts you or me, it's really none of our business whether or not other people wipe their own backsides or have a machine do it for them. Besides, we can see in our society today that people - even when everything is provided for them - will still try and do something with their lives instead of just vegging in a huge mansion (which is my dream). A lot of people - perhaps the majority - would be fat, lazy and feeble minded (although if you check you'll find that's already the case) and never do anything productive, but a lot of others would use the opportunity to enrich themselves and the lives of others. People would still have interests and other things they want to do.

well, paying out that kind of money just to have robots do "humaniod" tasks like dancing seems silly to me... when one of y'all came up with something productive to help humanity, like that really cool ST healing device, call me... no, really, call me, my fuckn tooth is killing me!
