Oh wow. I was gone three nights and I feel like I was drunk for four.

Got to see the baby sister, which naturally led to seeing her falling down drunk at a pub.

Met the future brother in law and his family, got to see them falling down drunk at home.

Went Xmas shopping in the biggest mall in the maritimes on Xmas eve, which naturally led to me wanting to drink. I'm home now, hungover, tired, worn out and about ready to sleep for a month.

So yes, naturally, it's time for a beer.

I just spent 4 and a half hours in the back of a very small car trying to make my dogs behave. But the good news is my Sister is allowed out of hospital all day tomorrow, so we'll get a family christmas after all.

And yes, I'm having a beer.

Thanks. On Monday, we were hoping she'd be able to come out for a couple of hours today to have some Christmas dinner, but thankfully she's been allowed to stay for the whole day and will sleep here tonight. I'm not usually a sentimental person, but having my sister be healthy after all she's been through is really important to me, so my "Christmas Wish" is that this surgery finally means the end to her illness, and that she'll beat the odds and not succumb to diabetes for a very long time to come. The idea of my sister's illness coming back now is something that scares me more than death.

Anyway, she's sleeping on the couch now, stuffed full of Turkey, and this outburst will be tphe last time I'm emotionally open with you all for a long time, so make the most of it.
