The Mom settled out of court already for $2000. I wonder how long she grounded her daughter for? If I cost my folks $2000, I'd still be in the basement!

No. This was just a company out to make money on file sharing. If I can dig up their website, I'll show you. It's really funny. They've got a "customer" quoted saying something like: "With this, I've already downloaded hundreds of dollars worth of software. It's already paid for itself!"

Well, I think it was mom who paid for the service to make it "legal", so I don't think that mom can say too much.

I'd get pissed off at the company.

I think the mom should sue Kazaa.

It seems that the subscription basis was how the RIAA was able to locate and prosecute the defendants.

I believe WinMX is non-centralized, which means that you can't easily be tracked, but I may be wrong.

see.. this is what happens to the world when I disappear for a week or two.. little girls are getting sued by big name companies.. whatta load of pooey.... aw well.. glad I lost kazaa after 1 week(computer went kablooey)
