I recently read one of Brikars posts on TW in which he commented on the original Transformers cartoon being nothing more that a hafl hour commercial for the toys. I agree, in fact I started thinking about ti, and really, most cartoons are just promotions to get kids to go out and buy the toys. I don't think I can name a single cartoon out there that doesn't sport some type of action figure, or collectible item.

So I broadened my thinking on the subject, and I've come to the conclusion that EVERY tv show is just a ploy to get us to buy some type of product. Even sows that have no real merchandising value are littered throughout with commercials telling us to buy something, or go somewhere, or eat something, and many other various ideas that all end up with us being separated from our money.

So, broaden that perspective one more time. Schools. Yes I know, thisis a leap, but bare with me through this. What is the point of going to school? To gain an education right? Wrong. The point of school is to help our children grow up and get jobs. Now why do we want them to have jobs? So they'll make money. And why do we want them to have money? So we can get them to spend it and give it back to us.

Now, let's go a bit further into the paranoia that is my brain...

Who pays for the schools? The government, and where do they get the money? From us! Why do we give them our money? Because they lead us to believe that the schools are there for our benefit, and that our children NEED this service. Something like advertising...

So let's look at the people who are takking our money. Why do they want our money? Is it because they like the smell of it? Is it because they like the pretty colors it's available in? No. They want it because all their lives, they, like us, have been taught that the only true purpose in life is to separate someone else from their money.. So what do theydo with our money? They spend it of course, because that's what happens with money.

Now, I know this is a fairly long winded post, but I am coming to the conclusion in just a moment.

Of all the people that get the money, who actually wants it? Nobody does. Everyone spends their entire lives marketing in some form or another, (when you get paid for a job, you're selling your services thus becoming included in the marketing factor) and as soon as they get this money, it's with the intentions of giving it to someone else right? So my question is, WHO THE HELL HAS THE MONEY???

The oil companies spend all the money they make lavishing the executives and such. The Government spends it's money on everything possible. The insurance companies, same as the oil companies..

I would like to know quite simply who has the money? To quote Jerry Macquire, "SHOW ME THE MONEY!!"

I think that the person who can tell me this, will have discovered the secret of existence.

What's funny about your original point is that in the states, prior to (I think) about 1982, toy manufacturers couldn't create toys based on a cartoon series.

Are you serious?? That's funny. Cause nowadays, we get shows like Pokemon, who's sole purpose is to promote some new toy/product.
