And Green Bay's a part of it! Woo-Hoo!

Green Bay rolled over Denver's second string like it was nothing (Denver, already in the playoffs, decided to rest Portis, Sharpe, and Plumber). 31-3. The ending was already set, so here we were watching the Viking/Cardinal game.

The only way for Green Bay to make it into the playoffs was for the 3-12 Cardinals to defeat the 9-6 Vikings. Minnesota was up 17-12. Cards QB was sacked, and fumbled the ball with 24 seconds left in the game. 4th down and 24 yards to go for a first down, farther for a TD (which is what they need to win). The clock's still going. Minnesota's getting ready for the playoffs and--with 4 seconds left in the game--Cards QB threw a pass into the endzone. Receiver caught the ball and was forced out of bounds by the Minnesota defender (who was so ready for next week he couldn't play the ball in the endzone).

Cards went to 4-12. They're the fourth team with four wins to beat Minnesota (and, in the interest of full disclosure, they beat Green Bay earlier in the season). Minnesota dropped to 9-7. Green Bay went to 10-6, and are the NFC North champions. They went from unseeded in the playoffs to the number 4 seed in 4 seconds. And next week, when the second season begins, they'll be playing Seattle at home.

Yeah, it was a great game. Both teams played well but unfortunately for Hasselbeck, he made that one mistake.

What do you think, does Carolina have a chance against St. Louis next week?

I am not a big Rams fan although they seem to be doing well with Bulger rather than Warner. I also don't like their coach, Mike Martz.

I am a big fan of the coach of Carolina, John Fox. He was with the Giants and believe me, he was a much better assistant coach than Jim Fassel was a head coach. I think on an x and o basis, Fox will prevail against Martz.

I also like the Carolina quarterback, Jake Delhomme. I read an article that Bill Parcells was trying to get him as his quarterback in Dallas before the season started. So based on that alone, I think he could lead his team to victory against St. Louis. Parcells knows QBs.

Balance that off with Stephen Davis, well you never know.

In the playoffs, sometimes it seems like it's all about luck. I think Carolina will get lucky this weekend.

Carolina's now officially a lock to win this game

Last night on Fox Sports Network's "Best Damn Sport Show" Tom Arnold said that St. Louis was going to blow out Carolina. If I was a betting man, I would put cash on Carolina now.

Props to me on Carolina.

Tears to Arik for Green Bay, sorry man, I was hoping they would win. I hate the Eagles.

Thanks. You know, I just don't understand the logic...they went for it on 4th and goal from the one (which they shouldn't have gone for...you never give up the opportunity to get points), but Sherman refused to go for it on 4th and one on the Philly 40 yard line with 2:30 left in regulation. I mean, put the game in the hands of your playmakers, not Andy Reid's playmakers. Especially since the Philly D was at that point fairly tired (trying to catch Green and Davenport isn't easy ). There was no way they'd stop a Green run. And then to try to draw them off-sides in their own friggin' stadium. I mean, if it was at Lambeau, it might have worked. But the Eagles weren't guilty of a single encroachment pennalty in the entire game. Why would they start that late into the 4th quarter?

I suppose it was the same logic Martz used to not go for a touchdown in the Carolina game.

At least next week's AFC game promises to be interesting.
