| Astro-Monkey | WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush next week will lay out his "vision for expanding the space program," which is expected to include long-term proposals for manned missions to the moon and an eventual manned mission to Mars, senior administration officials say. NASA's target for a moon mission is 2018, an official said. Bush's speech will come just a couple of weeks before the anniversary of the breakup of the space shuttle Columbia as it returned to Earth last February 1. All seven astronauts aboard were killed. read more...

| Patrons | Man on Mars.... I don't think that will happen in our life time, but when it does, it will be a great moment in the history of mankind. As far as going back to the moon... meh! We went, we saw, we played a little golf, planted a flag and found out there's no cheese up there.... meh. In all seriousness, there's still a lot we can learn from studing the moon.... who knows, maybe we'll find some pressious metal or some kind of natural gasses that will help our world become a better place.

| The Awesome One | Yes, cause a mining operation is exactly what we need on the moon... And I'm sure thatt his announcement has nothing whatcoever to do with the impending election, as I am also sure that Bush will keep this promise once the election is over and he's once again elected. *end sarcastic rant*

But, I do agree that it's 100% political. I know I'd have a hard time voting against him, with him wanting to expand space travel ('course, now the other candidates have to come out for/against his proposal ).

| Patrons | Yes, of course Bush's plan for NASA has nothing to do with the upcoming election... *cough yeah right cough* I'm not looking at his recent promise of his NASA project, I'm looking at his track record over the past 4 years and how he handled the whole Iraq deal. Yeah, sure, we got Saddam.... but at what cost? Was it really worth it? Where's the evidence of his involment of 9/11? Where's the evidence of his "weapons of mass destruction"? Oh sure! lots of guns and gernades and stuff, but where are the nukes? On another note, Bush has made so many promises to cut taxes, help lower the cost of perscriptions and make our schools better, but he has broken and/or twisted every single one of them. To keep Bush in office another 4 years will ruin this country IMO.
