I HATE this program, I'm giving way more than I'm taking, and the resume feature's crap so I can't go back.

The thing I hate the most is that although it's a shitty network with a shitty client, it's the best way to download things.

I've never had serious problems with it. It wasn't working for awhile, but then it just started back up again. I get great speeds. Granted I do give alot more bandwidth for uploading then I'd like, bt that's part of the reason I get good downloads, cause everybody is forced to share there bandwidth.

Oh well, I'd rather Bittorrent than Kazaa or Edonkey any day.

Downloading traditional crap, I seem to get better speeds doing HTTP/FTP transfers. With P2P specific stuff, I get better speeds on Overnet.

I'm not the biggest torrent fan either.

Definately, I get double the speed on most traditional web downloads.

While I'm 5% away from my first successful episode download on torrent, I still hate it. I don't mid if the upload is close to the download speed, but when I'm getting 1/kbps download and fucking 8 upload it's getting rediculous. Also, Torrent seems to be the only program I've ever run on this box other than IE 6 that crashes often, and I'm talking bluescreen errors where 2k reboots (very annoying).

Actually, for those of you who want to give Bit Torrent another chance, try a program called bittorrent search. It gives you an Emule like interface, and you don't have to go web browsing to find the torrents. It's kind of a mix between Bit Torrent and normal P2Ps like Kazaa or Winmx.

That's retarded, not having to search is what makes Bittorrent different. The main problem with BT is that it's a pain in the ass to resume.

No, downloading direcly from the web and forcing people to share bandwidth is what's different about Bit Torrent. The only difference with this program, is that it takes a preset list of websites with torrens, and condenses it into a list just torrents on one convenient page. So instead of browsing countless websotes trying to find something, this program essentaially finds the website and the torrent for you.

And I've never had a problem resuming a torrent, so maybe it's your pc, or your connection that are the problem.

Actually, the eDonkey network has had this feature for a while. Share Reactor was just shut down, but there are plenty of other sites out there with ed2k links.
