And I regret to inform you that I have had a perfectly good (if not old) PC lying around for over a year but took it to the dump about a month ago :P

If all you really want to do is surf the net, I'm sure you could obtain someone else's cast off for next to nothing, and you don't really need a cutting edge computer unless you plan on editing films or playing games. Maybe you should swap your your Web TV for a PC with a TV card :P
