![]() | So a couple weeks ago, I went out with some friends for a friend's 21st birthday. This other guy that was supposed to come totally bailed on us, without even bothering to call. Tonight we were all supposed to go out again, only this time he was the one organizing it. But this morning I get an email from him that his grandfather had passed away, so there would be no gathering. But the gathering was going to be over ten people at a restaurant/bar. Other people decided to make alternate plans, but I'm sitting here thinking, "I feel bad for him, but why the shit should we all miss out because of him?" Maybe taht makes me a bit of an asshole, I don't know, but I was really looking forward to this, and I can't say that I'm alright with him cancelling a large group gathering instead of just him not going, especially after what happened a few weeks ago.

![]() | That's the worst part - it was already organized! But once he said he wasn't going and announced "no party", everyone just sort of dropped out. And my friend from New Hampshire, the one I wanted to see the most, decided that a three hour trip just wasn't worth it anymore.

| The Awesome One | I think you should call them all up and "remake" the plans. It doesn't mean your an asshole. Take it from me, after all, I am THE asshole. ![]()

| Pornstar | I could be reading you wrong here Brikar, but do you suspect that this gentleman might be lying about his grandfather? I just get the feeling that you do (dont as me why). BTW--"Expanding" is quite a read. Good plot-driven stuff. Although, I wish ENT afforded you some better characters to work with.

![]() | No, I don't think he's lying, since there was a wake and a funeral the other day. I just don't think that the other 8 or 9 of us should have given up because he couldn't make it, especially after he'd bailed on us the week before.

| The Awesome One | I don't see why there shuold be an issue. Just because he organized it, doesn't mean that he's necessary to the event. And as for his loss, well, it may sound callous, but it's not like YOU'RE grandfather died. I understand if you had known the man or something, but if you cancel your plans everytime someone you know loses a family member, you may as well stop making plans.
