Star Wars plot hole??

I have a question and I am not he SW expert that I know this for sure, but I think I have found a plot hole.

We all know that Luke is the son of Vader...Obi Wan tells him, Yoda tells him, Vader even tells him. However...how does Vader know that Luke is his son? According to what we have seen, and the tidbits that have been leaked, Anakin knows Amidala is pregnant but that is it. Apparently she dies either during or right after childbirth, so how does Vader know Luke is his son?

Anyone know?

Dude, they have the same last name.

Also, in the new DVD release of "The Empire Strikes Back", there's a new scene where the Emperor tells Vader that Luke is his son. It's silly, and not particularly well-played. Like the other changes I don't like, I just ignore them when I watch the movie.

Weak and poor perhaps but consistent within the logic of the SW universe I would say.
