Default Star Trek Movie?

Someone on another site told me that they're making a new ST movie but I haven't been able to find aything on it. Does anyone know anything about this or is it just a pipe dream?

IIRC, Berman & drones have a plan for an 11th movie. Paramount hasn't green-lit it, though.

I think there may be plans for a Starfleet Academy film that follows a young Kirk and Spock.

I remember rejecting the idea when I first heard of it, but when you think back to the information that we got from TOS about Kirk's youth, we'll see Finnegan and other stuff that could be interesting.

However, such a film would be more continuity porn, and I think that the fans are going to get tired of continuity wanking before too long. There needs to be a NEW and inspired TREK concept that doesn't repeat what has been done already.

Yeah Des. I totaly agree with you. I really don't see the need for a film that goes back to the "academy days", I think would just be too boring.

Hollywood seems to have a trend for this "let's go back to the beginning to explain the middle" crap lately. I think it's being done to death.

If Paramout were to make another ST flick, I presonally would like to see another TNG... but I'm a TNG fan anyways so...

I would assume that if another movie were made, the logical step would be a DS9, or VOY theme. Of course what would really be cool is to intrduce a whole new crew all together... but that's just me.

I think they should do a movie about Wesley and The Traveler, about how they travel beyond the space/time continuum in a warp bubble and play naked twister with the residents of fluidic space in a hyperbolic galaxy.

OR:

They should tie STAR TREK in with STAR WARS and have the Maquis attack the Wookie homeworld. I bet THAT hasn't been done before!

Personally, there's nothing more appealing to me than the thought of thousands of Klingons set loose on Endor Fuckin Ewoks...

OK! BEAN, CYMRO! LEAVE THE EWOKS ALONE!
What did the Ewoks ever do to you?

Although a Klingon based movie would be nice. I wish I were able to write scripts or something, 'cause I've been having an idea floating in my head for awhile based on Shanara (Worf's daughter in Paralles). And no... she's not a lesbian... before you ask, Bean.

I've also had an idea about an entirely new crew, but the timeline is placed during the Dominan War... no Enterprise, no Defiant or any of that other stuff... it wouldn't be a good movie, but it might make a good book as one of those "untold stories" type thing.

I'm just not good at writing... I'm more of an idea type person.
