![]() | I'm mightily impressed. I really liked the 2003 mini-series, but because it was a mini-series, it seemed to move rather slowly. As a 42-minute TV show, I think BSG works even better. The story is tighter, the dramatic action moves a bit more swiftly. I'm not sure I really by Katee Sackhoff's Starbuck quite yet, though. She did good when she was being light-hearted on the flight deck with Apollo, but when she was trying to convince him not to blow up the civilian cruiser, it seemed a bit flat, like she just wasn't pushing her performance to be desperate enough. I liked how everyone on the cast gets their moments in this episode. I don't know if that will change, but it seemed like the ensemble was really there. This was Olmos' episode, it wasn't McDonnel's episode, it wasn't Sackhoff's or Bamber's or anyone else in particular. They were all there. That's good to see. I'll be finished with my Voyager reviews tomorrow, too. I got loads of DVDs for christmas: Voyager, Quantum Leap, Return of the King, Seinfeld, Batman: The Animated Series, and tomorrow the BSG 2003 mini comes out in R1, so I'll be picking that up, too. Good thing I'm done with college. Now I have all this time to watch TV! ![]()

| The Awesome One | Yeah, the format of the show really impresses me. The later episodes follow a bit more centralized plot as far as characters go, but still, their all there. There's always a lead character in each episode, but they split up the time amongst the ensemble nicely. So far I couldn't tell you who the lead actor in the series is, and that's a good thing IMO. Starbuck gets better, she has two episodes where she's the A story character and they both work really well. I won't ruin them for you, but I'm reallu enjoying what they did with her character.

![]() | Cool. I watched the second episode, "Water," this afternoon. It was quite good, too. I bought the mini-series on DVD today. I'm a bit disappointed. The video quality is a bit lower than I'd hoped in places, and I don't like having the flip the disc over to watch the special features.

| Religious Fanatic | BSG airs on Friday nights ere for some reason, and I am NEVER home, so I never could get into it properly. The only DVD I got was S&M, and it's even more awesome being able to watch them play too. Plus I love documentaries about bands, so that was a nice bonus.

| It's me again | Loved '33' and 'Water' both...I think the story telling works well. I am also starting to really like Col. Tighe. I like pissy military officers (it rings so true for me). Not liking the sub plot on Caprica, but it is cool to see the CGI Cylons. Getting my Six and Boomer's confused though. 2nd Episode is done and I already like it better then ENT.

| Astro-Monkey | I think the subplot with the Cylon and the doctor (don't remember his name) is going to bore me. Other than that, I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to next week when Sci-Fi Friday is all new. ![]()
