![]() | http://observer.guardian.co.uk/uk_ne...401685,00.html UK Muslims, it seems, are pissed at how "24" portrays Islamic terrorist characters in a negative light, thus marring the reputation of Islam. Maybe they should be pissed at how Islamic terrorists are ruining the reputation of Islam, instead of being pissed at a fictitious television show ABOUT TERRORISM. Maybe they should check out the second season of "24", when a Middle-Eastern character was actually one of the heroes of the season, helping Jack when no one else would, or when the President of the United States flat-out refused to start a war with the Middle East based on faulty intelligence (oh, shit, did I just say that?) This seems like another case of people attacking the media instead of taking some damn responsibility - like when absent mothers blame videogames after their idiot kids murder someone.

| The Awesome One | I'm reminded for some reason of the online petition against the second LOTR movie for the title "the Two Towers" and the events of 9/11....

![]() | Oh, yah, I remember that one... They seemed to be under the impression that Peter Jackson had chosen the name of the movie, for some reason.

![]() | Terrorism is a staple of action series. A couple of decades ago, it was Irish Republicanism and there were complaints about the portrayal of the Irish on TV. With Irish Terorism less than what it used to be, the current hot topic is Islamist terrorism. When Eskimos finally decide to stick it to the man, expect complaints about how Inuits are protrayed as seal bombers.

| Patrons | I don't know why people get so upset about these tv shows. Pretty much most of drama shows base their stories on what's happening in the headlines. Look at Law & Order SVU, they had an ep about a "child-like" star accused of molesting little boys. It's pretty normal for shows to take ideas from what's happening in the world... they've been doing it for decades.
