Default Wow, the WB was right to cancel "Angel"...

...cuz if they didn't, there's no way they'd have numbers like THESE:

"NEW SERIES VS. THEIR TIME SLOT HOLDERS FROM LAST SEASON

+51.97% - blue collar tv (vs. like family)
-2.34% - the wb thursday movie (vs. thursday comedies)
-41.23% - jack & bobby (vs. angel)
-43.53% - summerland: beginnings (vs. smallville: beginnings)
-49.79% - high school reunion 3* (vs. one tree hill)
-61.12% - big man on campus (vs. angel)

Jack & Bobby had a 41% drop and Big Man On Campus had a 61% drop in viewership compared to Angel last year.

Jack and Bobby have become the least-watched show of the network."

What an amazing move, WB! Amazing! How you could have known what an excellent business move ditching "Angel" would be is beyond me. Teach me your secret, oh wise ones!

Pffft.

heh heh, it's becoming increasingly obvious to me that television executives, know nothing about television.

That, my friend, makes more sense than most of your other ramblings...

The WB... worst network... ever.

The WB... worst network... ever.
Well, while I agree with the sentiment that cancelling Angel was apparently a blunder worthy of a comic book guy type insult, I would still put FOX in the number 1 spot for stupid decisions. Let's see, just off the top of my head we have:

Futurama - They cancelled the only spin off to their golden goose series the Simpsons. A show that not only was just as funny as the Simpsons used to be, but was a way of taking the same old material we've seen ad nauseum on The Simpsons, and making it look fresh.

Family Guy - Ok, they cancelled the series. Not only was it a good show, but the DVD sales of the existing series warranted the release of another season. Now ya think maybe they could have saved everyone the trouble and just NOT have cancelled it in the first place?

Firefly - Alright, take a director/writer/producer with two cult status success stories such as Buffy and Angel. Get him to pen a new show. A sci-fi series right at a time when sci-fi is booming, yet sorely lacking in exposure. Farscape, Trek, Star Wars prequels. I mean let's face it, sci-fi material was definitely on the verge of jumping into mainstream when FOX, in their INFINITE STUPIDITY, decided to cancel the show. They didn't even give it a full fucking season?????

Now, second to FOX I would most definitely put UPN. Why you ask? Because they cancelled Enterprise? No, because they picked Enterprise up to begin with. They went through almost 7 years of one of the crappiest sci-fi shows of all time (Voyager) and what do they do once they rid themselves of it? They pick up the next buxket of shit that the same producers throw out. Now, the obviously have realized the error of their ways at that point, so to make ammends, they decide to take it carefully and NOT PROMOTE THE DAMNED SHOW! Here they have what is probably the longest running, biggest, and most financially sucessful Sci Fi franchise besides Star Wars on their network, and they DON'T PROMOTE IT!! I mean I remember when UPN was in it's infancy, I couldn't watch 5 minutes of it without seeing a commercial for Voyager, yet with Enterprise they don't even try. Not that I think they should have picked up the show, but if you're gonna sell ice to an eskimo, you at least have to PRETEND you think it's a good deal.

So, I would rank WB as third in the list of "Worst networks ever."

Though it is kinda cool that the Simpsons gets away with taking the piss out of FOX all the time.
