| The Awesome One | This is it folks! The last Star Wars movie ever!! I'm only hours away from the midnight viewing and I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself. Partially excited about the movie itself, but moreso for the significance of what it is. It's the end to a story that has become more than an entertainment franchise. It's the final piece in a puzzle that has become an inexplicable piece of modern day mythology. This is something that I will look back on in twenty years and say "I was there on opening night". Sounds geeky, but it's true. To everyone else who's going, remember, it's not just another Star Wars movie, this is an historical event in the film industry. Have as much fun as I plan on having.

| The Awesome One | Ok, just got back, it was fucking great! ESB is by far still my favourite, but wow, it was just amazing. The only real complaint I have, is that Hayden couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Other than that, absolutley stupendous. I'll save the spoilers for later. suffice it to say, I'm happy with paying to see it. Milkman, I love you too :P

![]() | I agree that the new Star Wars movie was pretty good, but I also agree that Hayden Christensen isn't a good actor. We were supposed to see Anakin fall over episodes II and III, but he has failed to give the character depth. Shame... Still, he doesn't exactly get much help from the script, either. I was expecting him to be lured by all sorts of promises and deceitful revelations, and instead he supposedly just falls out of love without either considering that he might lose his love by falling. I mean, girls really like guys who murder children, right? Duh... That was a pretty lousy excuse for a motivation. The thing is though, that I think Lucas' plots actually work rather well, I just wish he would have let someone else write the actual lines for the characters, as some of them are simply very unimaginate or downright boring. Some are brilliant, however - I love how Padme comments on the death of democracy. Palpatine's lines aren't actually all that interesting, but Ian McDiarmid plays it so beautifully (i.e., horribly) that you just don't notice - next to him Hayden Christensen doesn't seem to know which galaxy he is in... a long time ago, and far, far away ![]() Lots of action going, though, with undoubtedly the most intense and lengthy lightsaber duels ever. That's where the movie really delivers! After watching the Clone Wars cartoons (I recommended them - they're great!), it was a bit of a let-down to watch General Grievous, though. He was much tougher in the cartoons.
