Default XBOX360 gets a lukewarm reception in Japan.

Even though I could have been among the first in the U.S. to get an XBOX360, I'm glad I didn't plunk down nearly $400.00 for the thing.

First of all, I remember that there was a hardware problem with the first XBOX. I think I heard about something similar with the 360.

Anyway, there aren't very many new titles for this thing right now either. And the reviews of the ones that are out describe the people as looking like animated corpses with soulless eyes.

I'll wait until they get the bugs out of the system before I buy one. I have my eye on the new Playstation. I was a die-hard Nintendo fan, but after faithfully buying every console to date, I can say that they don't really try hard enough, and they say too much in speculative interviews that NEVER comes true. The cube was a little disappointing.

Huh. I enjoyed my Cube. Sold my PS2. And didn't even give the X-box a second look.

If I purchase any of the next generation consoles, I'll probably play them the same way.

I'm eagerly saving for my PS3. Xbox sucks.

A lot of the titles on XBox and Playstation never make it to the Nintendo, like the GTA titles. The PC doesn't get all the games either, but there are enough exclusive games for the PC to keep you happy, as the consoles are poorly equipped for FPS and RTS games.

I think there are a number of more than adequate FPS games for consoles, including "Halo" (the only game worth wasting money on an Xbox for) as well as "Red Faction", "Medal of Honor: Frontline", "Killzone" and "007: Nightfire", among others for the current generation.

But I will agree that RTS games don't have much of a market there, which is why there's so few of them... and why the few that are out usually aren't very good.

I'm aware of the presence of both those genres on consoles, I was refering to the real reason why they have a superior market for PC users: the mouse and keyboard are the best control interfaces for them, just like joypads are better for other games, like sports, racing, and third person beat em ups. I found it impossible to play NFS Underground and the GTA titles without a joypad.

As for the Sig image, thank you. I made it for when I was on that Stargate Forum that turned out to be full of puritans who weren't allowed to criticise the shows. I was almost banned for asking which one of the regulars they'd like to see killed in season two, and then again for saying Rachel Lutrell was a man. So to act extra smarmy about not getting banned I made that Sig image.
