Default Megadeth Remasters

I just downloaded the Megadeth Discography remastered, and wow. I love it. Rust in Peace, and Peace Sells have always been two of my favourite metal classics, but to hear them remastered with modern product values just blows me out of the water.

There's even a few unreleased tracks included on some of the albums, nothing spectacular mind you, but still worth a listen. Now if Metallica would just get the same idea and remaster Kill em All.

Anyone else heard these yet?

I haven't, but I'll certainly keep my eye out. I agree about Metallica, though. I'd love to hear the old albums all spiffied up.

Dave Mus-Caine? (snif, snif)

okay, I'm jealous, I admit it.

not everybody can be Dave Plastik's friend.

Mustaine is LUCKY to still be remembered after getting booted out of Metallica.

( who is Dave Plastik? google it!)

EDIT: glad you downloaded it and didn't pay for it. Those guys were poseurs anyway, even if the music was good.

I have the remasters of Killing, Peace Sells, Countdown and Youthanasia. I love the first two especially, because they're both high quality 80s thrash albums, and you can play them way louder than the Metallica and Anthrax albums without needing a sound system upgrade. "The Skull Beneath the Skin" will get you speeding tickets if you aren't careful though...

Cryptic Writings, Risk and The System Has Failed aren't bad. Only minor improvments to the originals. Like that little faggy opening to Use The Man has been removed entirely. Still worth the download

Do you mean So Far So Good? Because TSHF was only released last year. I still don't own Risk...the samples I've heard just suck.

I liked that faggy intro on Use The Man...didn't really serve any purpose since they changed the name of the song and the Album, but that old 60s song is ace

I hope they removed that crappy chorus effect and reverb they put on all the guitars and drums on So Far So Good, it just took the edge off the album completely and you can tell why Capitol fired that producer when they took over Peace Sells. Why Megadeth hired him for their next album I don't know, probably had something to do with the amount of smack they were on at the time.

What do you think of the vocals on "Take No Prisoners"? Apparently they lost the original vocal tape for that one so Mustaine had to re-do it for the remaster and some say the new vocals sound fucked up.
