| Astro-Monkey | Anyone who puts a tv show on DVD, but doesn't put a new chapter immediately after the opening credits needs to die slowly. And, while I'm at it, whoever designed and/or implemented that stupd figure 8 case, where one disc sits behind the another one, can join them. Fhew. I just needed to get that off my chest.

![]() | heh, you'd think that with the outrageous prices Paramount charges for the DVD sets, that they'd invest a little of it toward adding the chapter thingy to the DVDs. I mean, it would cost what, 2 cents extra per DVD? |

And yeah, this whole thing reeks of taking advantage of the consumer, because a day will come when the industry will announce that they've improved the packaging of DVDs, from the physical case to the menus on the DVDs themselves, and they're going to charge the consumer more for it. | |

![]() | I remember when the technology was a little newer, the packaging followed no specific industry standards at all. CDs would come in really varied packaging sometimes. My favorte is the doublewide style, where you can store up to four discs in the same package. But most anything I have on a disc, whether its music or video, is in one of those cases that store at least 100 discs per case. I don't feel compelled to display my music in some kind of special rack or shelf. I keep the empty packaging in a box somewhere and the discs and whatever printed material from the face of the package in the sleeves. I like it because it's easier to put them away when I'm done with the disc and I can transport the whole collection wherever I want to take it to. |

| Religious Fanatic | Oh, they did that a lot with PC games till they switched to DVD-ROMs, I hate those too. I also like the double wide ones, assuming the type you're refering to is like the Firefly one.
