![]() | Well, next year promises to run the concept of the comic book based movie into the ground pretty fast. Here's what's scheduled so far (starring, in parentheses): Spiderman 2 (Toby Maguire) Hellboy (Ron Perlman - yes, the Beauty and the Beast guy) The Punisher (Thomas Jane) Ghost Rider (Nicholas Cage) Fantastic 4 (rumored to have George Clooney as Mr. Fantastic) Catwoman (Halle Berry) Son of The Mask (probable, in production Fall 2003) (Jamie Kennedy) The Crow 4 (probable, currently in production) (David Boreanaz) At least that many CB movies are scheduled for 2005 as well.

![]() | I should note that in Crow 4, Boreanaz plays the bad guy. Ed Furlong plays the Crow. On the others, the star is who is actually playing the title role. Dennis Hopper and Tara Reid are also in this Crow. Dennis Hopper again? Is he short of funds or something? On another note: have any of you read Watchmen? Its one of my favorite graphic novels. I ask because they're going to go into preproduction for a movie version of it soon, and the producer promises not to dumb it down like they did another Alan More GN, LXG...

Watchmen is one of the best graphic novels ever written. If any of GN deserves a good big screen production, it's this one.

![]() | Add one more CBM to 2004: "Constantine", based on the DC/Vertigo "Hellblazer" graphic novels, starring Keanu Reeves in the title role. And on the Catwoman front, Michelle Phiefer will apparently be reprising her role as Selina Kyle, and will be Halle Berry's character's mentor. Also, add Sharon Stone as the villain.

![]() | And it continues! Add one more CBM for 2004 (probably, as it just started filming): "Man-Thing". Reports don't mention who plays the title role (probably wouldn't matter under all the makeup), the only name I sort of knew was Jack Thompson - and I only know him as the elder Lars (who lost his leg) in "Star Wars Attack of the Clones". Also it looks like the latest Batman movie will be out in 2005, and it'll be based on Frank Miller's "Batman Year One" series of comics. The CBM website says "The list of potential crime fighters includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Christian Bale, Joshua Jackson ("Dawson's Creek"), Cillian Murphy ("28 Days Later"), Henry Cavill ("I Capture the Castle") and Eion Bailey, who stars in the upcoming HBO feature "And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself." " The new Superman flick is still looking for a director but it'll probably be McG (Charlies Angels 2) - the good news on that front is that Supes will NOT be played by Ashton Kutscher, as the previous director choice wanted. Thank God. Supe 5 may be out in 2005 too. And finally, in 2005, comes "Elektra", starring Jennifer Garner, in a spinoff of "Daredevil" - this movie deserved a sequel? Well, I guess anytime you get rid of Ben Affleck and see more of Jennifer Garner, it's a good thing.

God almighty, sometimes I get the feeling that they think we are all retarded. Going to the movies is now $10 per ticket by me in NY, it really pisses me off if I drop the cash and the movie really sucks. Therefore, I am selective and anything, ANYTHING with Ashton Kutscher is not on my list of possible movies to see.
