![]() | Just got the DVD set. I'd only seen a couple of these ones on TV, so here come the impressions: 9x01 "Avalon" - Sweet extension of the "Lost City" battle, and a good intro to Cam Mitchell. I liked that he had to actually put "the band back together", rather than just waltz in and take Jack's place. 9x02 "Avalon, Part 2" - A good extension of "Avalon", introducing the Ori. Putting Daniel and Vala together is always fun. Shanks and Black have wonderful chemistry together. 9x03 "Origin" - I like the Ori. They're similar to the Goa'uld in certain respects, but I think far creepier and more insidious. 9x04 "The Ties that Bind" - There's some great moments in this one, but on the whole, it's somewhat predictable. Overall... Kinda "meh" on it. 9x05 "The Powers that Be" - I liked this one quite a bit. The Ori Priors are dicks, and I almost wish Vala had been able to actually kill him. Dang. 9x06 "Beachhead" - Predictable, but oh-so-cool. The Ori collapse a planet, and it's all SG-1's fault. The writing isn't amazing, but the editing and music and technical production all bring this one up a notch. Damn.
