| The Awesome One | Alright, so I didn't really say much about the season opener. Really what can you say. It was an excellent "set" of episodes, if not somewhat disturbing at parts. I did take issue with the subject matter though... not that I think the whole metaphor for Iraq thing is inappropriate, far from it, but the "message" of the episode got so thick and overstated that it kind of took some of the entertainment value out of it. Anyways, onto this week. The entire episode is basically a prelude to next weeks episode, or at least I would imagine the climax will be next week. Not having read any spoilers I can't say for sure. The whole episode is building up to the triumphant return of Adama and the Galactica on their selfless mission to rescue humanity from it's own blunder. The episode also turns out to be somewhat of a proving ground for Sharons loyalties when confronted by Xena warrior Cylon and very clearly picking sides. Loved this part of it, cause you know we were ALL wondering if she would betray the humans. The farewell between the two Adama boys was almost heart wrenching. These two actors show again that they can pull off "awkward" without a hitch. Having seen the "Next time on BSG" after the episode though, I'm gonna make a prediction and say that this entire plan has started us down the path of the Pegasus' demise. After all, she can't be with Galactica forever. Oh yes, lest I forget our favourite pirate colonel and his little traitor slut.. I have to say, I almost felt bad for her. Almost. But then her character has always been like that for me, she's always trying to scam something, or work some private agenda, and when it inevitably goes up in her face, I can't help but feel sorry for her. I'm anxious to see what they do with her when (if?) they get her back to the fleet. And of course my favourite part of the episode. Baltar! I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the way the writers are handling his downward spiral. He's at the point where I think he realizes he's gone too far now, and there's no point in going back. He doesn't care anymore who wins. Cylons.. Colonials, who the frak cares as far as Baltar is concerned. His mental state has gone to shit, and that's all that matters. Overall, another great episode for Galactica.

| Astro-Monkey | I've been enjoying these episodes (I was lucky...I missed "Lay Down your Burdens" when it originally aired, so I watched it on DVD just before watching the premiere). But, I can't really say they've been great until the ending is aired. BSG is back, and it's still a whole lot more interesting than most of the other shows on TV.
