| The Awesome One | This was definitley an action lacking episode. Other than the not so daring gunpoint rescue of Mitchell from the holding cells, there was no real action. More of an "emotional" episode. Not my favourite of the series so far, but still a good ep. A few more bits to the puzzle though.... The revelation that Washington DC was gone, and New York city survived thanks to post 9/11 paranoia was pretty good. And we got a little more info on Hawkins. I don't think until now they've stated that he only showed up in Jericho only 2 days before the "attacks". Oh yeah, and the fact that authorities in NYC had caught three guys with a 20 kiloton bomb in the back of a van was kind of interesting too. Apparently these weren't missile strikes, so that leaves the theories on who's responsible WIDE open. If the bombs were "hand delivered" it could have been anyone from a foreign nation, to terrorists, to a subversive group trying to overthrow the government. Hell, it could have been the government themselves, but with the nuking of DC that seems somewhat unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely. One thing that stuck with me though... I'm thinking the people in NYC would have been better off getting nuked. Can you imagine the chaos in a city so big after the "apocalypse"... not somewhere I'd want to be.

![]() | Indeed. Gray mentioned that Topeka wasn't hit, but that it was not a place he wanted to be, and NYC is several times that size. I think the next episode will be more intense, with Jake and Eric trying to nab medicine from that other town. The thing that bothered me the most about this episode was the Halloween celebration. It rang really hollow for me. I didn't mind the giant cookout in the earlier episode, but now we're over a month past the attacks, and they're putting out pumpkins (which should have been destroyed by the radioactive rain, right?) and trick-or-treating?

| The Awesome One | As for the radioactive rain... I'm pretty sure they decided that it wasn't radioactive after all. Remember the guy that got caught in it then had to drink the iodine... he was fine.
