![]() | I really don't have anyone to talk comics with, which really sucks seeing as how some incredible work has come out from the industry over the last few years. Comic's I currently collect..... Mainstream... Justice Society of America The Flash Hawkman Justice League of America Tom Strong Tom Strong's Terrific Tales Promethea Aquaman Sweatshop The Losers Supreme Power (Marvels "Ultimate Squadron Supreme" book, which could just as easily be called "Ultimate Justice League". Mini-Series... Superman/Batman: Generations 3 Anything with Hellboy in it B.P.R.D - A Hellboy spin-off series Superman: Red Son (what if Supes grew up in Russia, excellent read so far) Favorite comic series ever: Starman (The James Robinson version. Excellent book that I can't recomend enough. Pick up the trades, you'll be glad you did.) Most epic series ever: Crisis on Infinte Earths Best mini-series ever: The Watchmen Favorite artists: John Byrne, George Perez, Mike Mignola, P. Craig Russel, Evan Dorkin Characters I wish they'd make a movie of: Green Lantern (preferably Alan Scott) The Flash (Wally West) The Atom Hawkman (Carer Hall)

| Astro-Monkey | I used to, when I was younger. I kept up with my pals in Gotham City. Then I stopped. I picked it up again about the same time I started college, but that was when the great quake hit Gotham, and I found myself buying comics that I didn't want just to advance the story. So I stopped. Today I'll still pick up one that looks interesting, but all of the local comic shops dried up, so I don't have much of a chance.

| Senior Member | I'm kinda out of comicstuff now sadly.. just gttin a few lil bits when I can afford it.. nothing mainstream at the moment tho.. picked up some old Bone comics, and Tank Girl, got the Johnny the Homocidal Maniac collection and some Thieves and Kings collections(canadian goodness) and I gotta trunk filled to the brim(and a few boxes too) of some old Marvel stuff.. mostly Spider-Man and X-Men.... and a few Sandman collection books as well.... so I'm kinda small on the collector side... but I likes stuff that ya can't find in my home town.. namely... evrything that isn't made into a cartoon

![]() | I used to buy Spiderman and X-Men, but they got destroyed so I wouldn't call it "collecting". I do have Star Wars comics from issue #1 forward, the same for the Micronauts. Somewhere in my home is a box full of this stuff. There was a period when I was into the original Jonah Hexx series, now that's cool stuff. A few issues of Blackhawks too, which was a World War 2 based comic. I tend to like the stuff that isn't about superheroes. When I was really young, my tastes tended more toward things like "Wierd War" and "Archie" comics. My drawing style today is a combination of anime and the Archie style of drawing. I wish I could draw with a mouse, I'd have online comics too ![]() |

![]() | Used to... I do buy the "Ultimate Spider-Man" trades that come out periodically. That's about it, though. I think the last time I really kept up with something was Spidey around and just after 9-11.

| Member | I love comics. Here's what I get: - Batman (love Jim Lee, can't wait to see him on Superman next year) - Flash - Y - the last man (possibly my current favorite) - Amazing Spiderman - Ultimate Spiderman - Ultimae X-men - The Ultiamtes - Daredevil (Brian Micheal Bendis is a great writer, also currently writes Ultimate Spiderman and Ultimate X-men) - Fantastic Four - Electra - Hulk - Punisher - Star Wars - JLA - JSA - Uncanny X-men - New X-Men - Xtreme X-men - Wolverine - Avengers Mini Series: - Superman: Red Son - JLA: Scary Monsters - JLA: Age of Wonders - Daredevil/Bullseye (a Kevin Smith title which has only produced one issue and it came out last December!) - Spiderman/Blackcat (another Kevin Smith title that only 2 of the four came out and #2 was out 2002 some time. He insits both mini series will be completed some time) Favorite Series: Transmetropolitian (one of the Trade paperbacks has an intro by Patrick Stewart) which ended its 60 issue run last year. Movies I'd like to see: Transmetropolitian Y- the last man Flash Favorite Current Artists: Jim Lee (Batman), Alex Ross(the odd cover), Alex Maleev(Daredevil) Favorite Current Writers: Brian Michael Bendis (Ult. Spiderman, Ult. Xmen, Daredevil), Grant Morrison (New X-Men), Geoff Johns (Avengers, flash, JSA), Brian K. Vaughn (Y: The Last Man). Can't name my all time favorite artists and writers for the list would take a long time to compile since there are so many good ones out there. I only really started to get into comic heavily about 2 years ago. I read some but then one day I just couldn't get enough.

| It's me again | Let me start my comics comment by saying I know the absolute minimum level about comics from a technical standpoint. I do however, know the comics mentioned above. So if I use the wrong terminology, forgive me... Having said that, I have heard that a Japanese artist has been brought in to work on one of the X-Men titles and gives the comic a new look/feel. I don't know which of the X-men titles it is and I don't know who the artist is. If anyone knows any of the information and would like to pass it on, that would be great. I would like to see the work and compare it.

| Lover AND a Fighter | I agree with Frogs... Jim Lee is by far & away the best comic book artist out there. Though I've long since stopped comic collecting, until recently with the reprisal of the Transformers G1 by Dreamwave. I buy those if for nothing more than nostagia. I only first started collecting comics about the same time McFarlane came onto the scene. Then I started grabbing anything done by Jim Lee. WildCATS was the first one I had by him I think. I think I stopped collecting about the same time I started spending money on girls, then I had nothing left to buy comics with. :P

I spend way too much time/money on comics but up here I have nothing else to do. I have to cut back in a few days when I head off to school. ![]() | |
