![]() | Not too bad. Some funny bits. The CG effects of the dragon weren't terribly convincing, but I've seen worse on a TV budget. SG-1 bears a physical resemblance to Arthur's knights? Mehhhh. The scenes with Merlin were the high point of the episode, and Carter's response to Ba'al's insults is a definite laugher. The absolute best scene in the whole thing, however, is the scene between Mitchell and Vala. There's some great emotion there. Interesting ending. Could be cool... could be... not cool. We'll see.

| The Awesome One | Yeah, I downloaded it the other night too. I had no idea that it was out yet. I liked the scenes with Merlin, especially when Daniel, not wanting to be treated like some primitive yuppy and in a bit of a hurry, cuts Merlin off and tells him that they know all about Atlantis and the Ancients. As for the weapon itself, well I was virtually certain that they weren't going to complete it. I mean if they do, that's pretty much the end of the storyline, so it's not going to happen. I think that it might happen in the series finale, and then the Orii get there hands on it leaving us in a cliffhanger till the promised DVD comes out to finish the story. The dragon effects were dreadful, but as you said, it is a TV show with a TV budget, so it's very forgiveable. I didn't find it to be a very inspired episode, more like a quick and cheap wrap up to the cliffhanger, mixed in with alot of filler, although the dialogue you mention above was decent. The new Atlantis episode was better.

![]() | I liked this one better than the second part of the "Atlantis" cliffhanger with O'Neill and the Replicators, though. And since Daniel is now in the hands of the Ori, I dont think it was as much a "quick and cheap wrap up".

| The Awesome One | That's what I mean though, it seems like we got five minutes of wrap up to the cliffhanger, and then the rest of it was just meant to draw out the episode until Daniel gets caught. Of course I'm really biased here because I'm getting tired of every single episode revolving around how important Daniel is. Jackson IMO has never been anything more than a supporting character, and should be treated as such. I just get tired of the same old "uber intelligent morale superiority" crap that comes out of his mouth. For the last season the show has been written with Daniel as the lead character, and everyone else as supporting roles, whereas what originally turned me onto Stargate was the ensemble cast. Now that seems to be gone in favor of pandering to Shanks. This episode demonstrates that perfectly...

![]() | Well, when SG-1 ends, it's not Shanks that's moving to "Atlantis".

![]() | Are you ready for this? Weir will become a recurring character and CARTER will be around for 14 episodes.
