| The Awesome One | Just got finished watching the season opener for Battlestar Galactica. It's been over a year since the cliffhanger that closed of season 3 and left me completely confused, yet remarkably happy about it. After that long of a wait, I was worried that it would take a few episodes for me to get emotionally invested in the story again, I couldn't have been more wrong. From the pre credits lead in, I was back in the swing as if the show had never stopped. While there weren't many questions answered, it was still a great opener. So, my breakdown of the episodes high points. Baltar. Well, I was worried way back about the path they seemed to be taking with Baltar. The whole comparison to Christ that some have pointed out seemed a little too forced to me. In this episode, they stopped pussyfooting around it and jumped headfirst into the religious aspect of it. I actually enjoyed it. Seeing Baltar pray, I mean REALLY pray over the sick boy actually moved me more than anything else in the episode. And then his revelation to Six that he really was willing to sacrifice himself to save the child was such a huge turning point for this subplot. Excellently done. Starbuck. Not so happy about her having "memory issues" with how she came back, but it was a nice touch to see a picture of Earth that she managed to get. Last season people were talking about the ship of lights from the original series, and how it was possible it was being worked in. Well after this episode, I'm pretty convinced that it's where they're going with this, or at least some variation of it. Also, the rest of the crews reluctance to accept Starbuck as anything but a Cylon trick was a pleasant suprise. I was worried that they'd accept her back to quickly as a means to move the story forwards. Not so. And with the episode ending on the cliffhanger it did, even I was hesitant for a moment to believe that she's not a Cylon. (For the record, I know it's not her according to RDM, he stated in an interview recently that the final model isn't one of the main cast or regulars) Tigh and company. We didn't get much on these guys, even though they had a remarkable amount of screentime. I guess this can be attributed to the fact that they're all still in shock from finding out what they are. Anders and the raider was an interesting twist... What I get from it, is that the Cylons know on some level now, that the final five (at least four of them) are in the fleet. So overall, great episode. This episode proves beyond a doubt that BSG is possibly the greatest tv show on the air right now.

![]() | Totally. The only thing I'll add is that one of my favorite moments was the scene between Anders and Starbuck where he said if she were a Cylon, he'd still love her, and she said if he was a Cylon, she'd put a bullet between his eyes.

| The Awesome One | You're right. I forgot about that part. I loved it. Anders was obviously looking for comfort and ease of mind, but all he got was a "death sentence".

| It's me again | Two things - if they continue with the Baltar as Christ theme then this could only ultimately lead to his death before the series ends. It is too bad that RDm ruled him out as being a cylon, it would make it interesting to see Baltar get killed and a new Baltar show up. The miracle being that there are no resurrection ships around. Secondly, I am not sure about the Ship of Lights thing just yet. The series has always stayed away from aliens and such and the SOL would be a hard left turn in terms of the ground rules of the series thus far. Now if Starbuck went through a Stargate, different story... LOL

| The Awesome One | Well, perhaps not the ship of lights itself, although I wouldn't rule it out. But the involvement of a third party of some sort wouldn't surprise me.
