Indeed. But then you have to wonder what other road they could have taken to maintain their massive lead when "Rock Band" is becoming so popular. It reeks of "me-too", but I also don't see much in the way of an alternative if GH feels it needs to innovate.

Personally, I play the guitar on "Rock Band" more than I do anything else, but I'll also say that "Guitar Hero 3" wasn't exactly a world-shaking experience.

It was also stupidly hard.

Of course, if they're just playing "me-too", can it really be innovative?

Depends on if they just go with a straight riff of "Rock Band" or if they come up with some new twist. Of course, despite the introduction of other "instruments," was "Rock Band" really innovative or just a riff of "Guitar Hero?"

Why is there no "Jazz Band"?

Articles I've read have mentioned the ability to record your own songs, the possibility of 'free-style' sections in songs and then there's the design of the drums which might lend itself to slightly different play style.
