![]() | Show will end after this current 5th season. This is not terribly surprising. It's seemed to be on the bubble the last couple of years, and season four wasn't terrific. I haven't seen any of season five - "Atlantis" is one of the shows I've since been keeping up with on DVD rather than on TV. There is, however, word of a DVD movie in the vein of the recent SG-1 features. It might be geeky fun to have a mega-crossover of the two shows somehow. The Atlantis/SG-1 crossover in Season 10 was one of that year's better episodes, as was Teal'c's guest appearance in Season 4 of "Atlantis".

| Religious Fanatic | OT: I was just looking at some of the screenshots from the upcoming SG MMORPG thingy, and I was just thinking "You know what'd be awesome? If they did a $150 million movie.". Seriously, imagine what those folks could do with that much money...

![]() | I dunno, I'd be afraid to give them that much money.

| Religious Fanatic | I'd definitely impose some strict quality control measures, but I'm just imagining the sort of scale and detail you'd get.

![]() | Oh well, in that case, bring it on. As long as quality control includes "no Replicators".

| The Awesome One | Thank god. It's about time. I like the show, but it's really had no sense of direction since season 2.

| The Dude | Apparently, it was cancelled to make way for another spinoff - "Stargate Universe": SciFi Greenlights STARGATE: UNIVERSE!! -- Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news. Quote:
This article has some more details: Sci Fi orders 'Stargate' spin-off--The Live Feed It says they're trying to target a "younger audience" with the show, and that guest appearances from SG-1 and Atlantis characters is "very possible".

The most we can hope for is some pointless cameo appearances that will be hyped as massive "crossover events" which will turn out to be nothing more than brief and utterly pointless appearances. So.. Stargate does Lost in Space. This oughta be worth bitching about..
