| The Dude  |  Anyone seen this movie? I'm about half an hour into it, and it's pretty good. Taking place in what looks like the late 1950s after the "Zombie Wars", it seems that a powerful corporation has found a way to control and domesticate the zombie population. Towns are surrounded by fences, children learn marksmanship in elementary school, and most chores and simple services (newspaper delivery, milk delivery, trash pickup) are handled by the hordes of the undead. Only 10% of people can afford funerals, and those that can are buried separately from their head to prevent them from coming back to life. The tone is an odd mix of "Shaun of the Dead" and "Pleasantville" - everything is "Leave it to Beaver"-style old-fashioned American. Cars and clothes are brightly colored, and everyone seems almost overly cheerful. There are a couple of fake commercials and news films that are pretty hilarious. One of them warns that "the elderly seem friendly, but can they really be trusted?" that had me in stitches. Last edited by Brikar; 09-07-2008 at 03:46 AM. |

| Re: "Fido" This was a pretty fun movie...I think it was a straight to DVD release but enjoyable and Billy Connelly is always an interesting watch. Now, go check out the movie Black Sheep about the mutant sheep in New Zealand.
