![]() | So you guys know my feelings on Metallica and Megadeth, and recently I've been looking at both Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. But I don't want to jump into both, I'd rather do it one at a time. So which of these bands would you guys recommend first? I can name a couple of Maiden songs off the top of my head, and remember a handful, but Priest not so much. I've liked what I've heard of Maiden, and I've heard more of them, so I'm inclined to head in that direction. What say you?

![]() ![]() View Edit History: | The Priest has been consistently less disappointing than Maiden, IMHO. "Screaming For Vengeance" is a good jumping off point, and "Metal Works" is a good compilation.

| Religious Fanatic | I haven't had much experience with Priest, but Maiden can range from awesome to god awful. I've got Powerslave, Beast and Fear of the Dark, and those are pretty good, but...I'm weary of getting the entire back catalog.

![]() | I ended up getting "The Essential Iron Maiden" - 2 discs, 27 tracks. It was on sale. Pretty happy with the purchase, there's probably only three or four tracks that I'm not keen on. "Paschendale" is epically awesome, and the majority of the second disc tracks like "Number of the Beast," "Run to the Hills" and "2 Minutes to Midnight" are lots of fun. The ones I enjoy the most are the ones that, strangely, I can almost hear performed by Tenacious D...
