"Rock Revolution" apparently attempted this, but the game was so universally panned that I'm not sure whether it's worth writing home about. There was some talk that "World Tour" would have this feature as well, but it was apparently dropped early on in development.

The Metallica game does include the music creation tools from "World Tour" with specialized Metallica drum and guitar sounds. With work, it's likely you'd be able to recreate a song and change it how you see fit. Of course, it wouldn't include vocals and I think it's limited to 1200 notes or some such. It's obviously not the same, but, it's something.

I think the game limits you to three minutes or 1200 notes, whichever comes first.

The camera work and character animation is definitely a few notches above previous "Guitar Hero" games! I hope it's as fun as it looks!
