| The Awesome One | I posted this on my Facebook in response to a comment about me not liking the movie and thought I'd share it here. While not a full on review or anything, I think it sums up nicely my feelings on this piece of crap. ******** "2012" was nothing more than a combination of the worst Hollywood cliches and some of the most putrid dialog I've ever had the misfortune of hearing. Even the spectacular special effects couldn't come anywhere near making up for it. Picture Independence Day (which I liked) with even cheesier dramatic dialog, sketchier science, less story, and throw in, god only knows why, a subplot about a father trying to reconnect with his estranged family while the world literally falls apart around him. You can easily tell ten minutes into the movie the general ending to the various (and I use the word loosely) "plots". I'm all for suspension of disbelief to enjoy a movie, there's some things that get "prettied up" to make them work in a movie. This one however makes no attempt whatsoever to justify some of the things going on on the screen and just assumes that the viewer is already asleep so why bother having anything make sense. The only redeeming point about this movie that I cant think of, is that now I've watched it and will never have to suffer through such mind boggling "bad" again. Given the option of either watching this movie again, or watching puppies and kittens die painfully, I would have to go with the latter.

![]() | I laughed all the way through this movie. It was totally worth my time and money. The Russian characters were hysterically bad. The gaps in logic and science were astonishingly funny. I don't know how people didn't have a good time watching this.

| The Awesome One | Ok, so you're going with the "So bad it was funny" opinion. Not exactly contradicting me lol.

![]() | I can't imagine taking this movie seriously. John Cusack escapes the end of the world in every ridiculous form of transportation imaginable - limousine, RV, two kinds of airplane, armored cruise ship... I mean, I nearly pissed myself laughing at how retarded this movie was. Every time one of the Russians spoke, I could barely control myself. The only real complement I can give it is that a lot of the effects work was quite good.
