| Patrons | I haven't seen it yet and I'm wondering if anyone here has. I'm debating if it's worth spending out the money to see it on "the big screen" or if I should wait for it to come out on DVD. This morning a couple of DJ's were talking about it and said that poeple who have gone to see it in the theater had to leave half way through the movie because the 3-D effects made them nausious. I personally love 3-D, so I don;t think I'll have that problem. (maybe) Also, from what they [the DJ's] were saying is that it's a 2h 41m movie..... I don't think I could sit that long without having to go pee at least once. Anyways, just wondering if it's really a good enough movie to fork out the cash and see it at the theater or should I save my change and buy it when it comes out on DVD? Please, any responses, no major spoilers. Thanx.

| Eater of Planets | Here's a review that seems representative. I'm not bothering with the film. It seems like an ego trip for James Cameron more than anything else. Edit: Unfortunately, you have to register and log into the forums in question to see the review.

| Eater of Planets | Here's a similar review for which registration is not required. The common sentiment appears to be that Avatar is a visually impressive movie with a middling storyline.

| King of the Gerbils | I went for the full on 3D IMAX screening, I enjoyed it and so did everyone else who was there. The IMAX was sold out too (we had to reserve seats in advance), which was surprising since it's been out for six weeks. The majority of reviews are on the money; the story isn't brilliant, but it works and the visuals compensate for it's problems regardless. I'd rate it higher than Trek '09, and I think this is one of those films that you have to see on a big screen at least once.

![]() | Funniest review I've read was that it was yet another "white-messiah bullshit" movie. Not yet interested to see it. I don't know why though, it's not out of snobism or a lacking story. After all, I've watched the first Transformers...

| The Awesome One | Me too. Black people can't play lead roles in a movie. We all know that....

| King of the Gerbils | It's why the DS9 movie thing never got off the ground.
