![]() | Not sure if anyone else caught it but there were some good things here: 1) It was a bit lighter than it had been, and to me Angel has always been better when it combined more humor into the episodes to go with the action and plot twists. Though the ending was totally expected since it was spoiled ages ago by the WB's own ads, and often Angel (and Buffy) ends with an ending that makes you go "Whoa!" and makes you want to tune in again. Love the bit where he's checking out the garage full of old cars, and the bit where the W&H SWAT team shows up at the rescue at the beginning. Also, no more Connor, thank god. 2) Lots of stuff to work on new story lines with - the 'liason to the Senior Partners', Gunn's brainload of legal stuff, the problems with needing to balance getting rid of the bad guys with having to save them at the same time, the obvious need to battle internal dissenters to their presence. And of course, Spike's arrival at the end. On the other hand, no more Cordy. They've brought back Harmony, as Angel's secretary, but her character now greatly resembles early Cordy (and lets face it they used to be friends and their characters did resemble each other though Harmony was a bit more brainless). It's like they've pushed the reset button on the Cordy character and brought in a new actor to play the role at the same time. I'm on the fence about this as I loved the Cordelia character. On the other hand, Harmony and Spike used to have a thing going in the past, so there's opportunities there for some fun stuff. Joss Whedon wrote and directed the episode, which may be why it felt a bit snappier, like it used to be. I'll still be watching in the future. A good time for former Buffy watchers to rejoin the series without having watched in a while, you won't get lost.

| Astro-Monkey | Yeah, I've only seen the first season (thanks, DVD) so I don't really know who any of these people are. But the episode was fun, which is really what I expect from Angel. ![]()

| Lover AND a Fighter | Angel is back! Time will tell if its for the better. I'm still not keen on the whole Wolfeman & Hart take over, I'm willing to see where Whedon goes with it. Angel 5.01 The Good
