![]() | TNG is my favorite, but DS9 is the best... if that makes any sense to anyone.

![]() | While I felt like both DS9 and TNG were quality programs, nothing will ever be "Star Trek" in the way that "Star Trek" was. Flaws and all. The look, the outfits, the tech, the characters, the Enterprise.....all just simply classic and iconic in ways that has never been repeated. I miss all the wild shit that the old show had. To it's credit, TNG came closest to replicating it for a new generation. DS9 had the cool political elements, and the portrayal of the AQ powers was second to none, but I miss all the wilder elements that made the original such a ride.

![]() | I felt that "Voyager" actually came the closest to "Star Trek" - TNG and DS9 were totally different shows (and even totally different from each other) set in the Trek universe. But "Voyager" started doing that "wild shit". Of course, there were things that kept it from being great like "Star Trek." I liked the planets where time flowed at a different rate, or the huge space beast that made the crew hallucinate. I thought there were lots of fun episodes on "Voyager." I enjoyed "Voyager". A lot of people harp on it... a lot. But I had a lot of fun watching it. Now I'm getting an even better vibe from "Enterprise".

| The Awesome One | It's ironic isn't it? The worst of the series actually came the closest to capturing the "essence" of the original. Ah well, it just goes to show that although the majoriy of the fans scream and cry for it, we realy don't want Star Trek ack, we want DS9 and TNG. ![]()

Voy did have some wild concepts like the planet where time moved faster, but they just didn't have enough of them. Quote:
ST felt like an odessey. Voy didn't. TNG never felt like it left the Trek equivalent of the suburbs, as did DS9.

| Religious Fanatic | My favourite is TNG. Though I think DS9 was better than it in many aspects, it never made me feel the same. TOS was before my time, and though I like a lot of it, some stuff is just plain bad. Why do I like TNG? Well, in the first episode, Humanity itself was put on trial. That just says it all.

| Religious Fanatic | Why did they have to call it Enterprise? You've just reminded me of that with the paraphrased scotty quote. "There have been five vessels with that name" and of course, from "Trilas and Tribulations", when the Temporal guy says "There have been five" and the other guy corrects him and says "six", refering to the Enterprise-E of course.
