| It's me again | I just finished reading the first 3 Star Trek: The Lost Era series of novels: The Sundered Serpent Among the Ruins The Art of the Impossible Never before have I read any ST books that have fit so perfectly into the lore of ST than these books. The series takes place between the end of TOS and the beginning of TNG, each book basically focuses on different characters we've met over the years. For instance, 'The Sundered' takes place aboard the USS Excelsior under the command of Cpt. Sulu. SATR follows Cpt. Harriman of the 1701-B. At the point of the story he has been Captain for 18 years, so he is not the dopey Cpt. we saw in Generations. TATI follows a Klingon/Cardassian story line for the most part, but we get to meet the future Cpt of the Ent-C, Rachel Garret as a first officer and Curzon Dax. Each of these books weaves both major and background characters from TREK into it's fabric, we get to meet Worf's Grandfather and father, Chekov, Tuvok before he initially left Starfleet. These books truly are gems and fit well into our known knowledge of TREK. I usually don't like TREK books because they are fairly corny and the characters never seem right, but these authors know their stuff. These books are stand alond books, but each succesive book tales place a littel further away from TOS time period and a little closer to the TNG era. Try them. Not to bash ENT, but these books are the best TREK I've come across since DS9 ended.

| It's me again | Also, for you TREK-noids who were upset about the continuity error of the Romulans not having warp drive/cloak technology in the ENT episode 'Minefield', in the 'Sundered' book there is a flashback scene with Sulu that goes a long way to explaining the continuity error and at least make it plausible.

I would love to hear the explanation.
