| It's me again | OK, I recently cracked open Mr. Wallet and boght the Firefly DVD set after much delay and a little encouragement from Arik. All I have to say is...DAMN. I miss this show, and I only watched it on the DVD set not when it was broadcast. I remeber thinking after watching the first disc which contained 3 episodes, that I already knew more about these characters then after three (well almost) seasons of ENT. Between this show and 'Stargate SG-1' and to a lesser extent Babylon 5, I am beginning to urinate on my TV screen everytime ENT comes on. Also, Arik, does Astrobar have, r will it be getting a 'companion' anytime soon.? Grrrrrrr. Also, alot of the SFX shots in space have 'BSG 2003' feel to them. Well actually, I should have said the 'BSG 2003' SFX have a 'Firefly' feel to them. Speaking of BSG, don't the Alliance guys in 'Firefly' remind you of the 'Alliance' pseudo-Nazi guys that the origanl 'Battlestar Galactica' had on towards the end of its run. Bring back 'Firefly'!!

![]() | Re: CG effects. A lot of the same people were involved in making the effects for both shows, and the CG model of the Serenity is even in BSG2003 - it flies over the doctor's office in Caprica City very early on when Mary McDonnel's character is being told that she has cancer.

| Astro-Monkey | Yeah, comparisons between Firefly and Enterprise's characters show the difference between writing stories that revolve around characters and writing stories that have characters. As for a 'companion', no. We're not getting one. You could ask one of the females who post here to switch professions, tho... And the Firefly/BSG2K3 effect shots were (IIRC) both done by the same team. In fact, in one scene there was supposed to be a shot of Serenity flying by a window (that's how much they miss the show, too). EDIT: But Brikar just told you that. ![]() Viva Firefly!
