| The Awesome One | I just watched the trailerfor "Sky Captain" over at Quictime.com and I was suprised to hear that the music playing in the background was the theme from Stargate SG:1. Has anybody else seen this, or am I nuts?

![]() | Using music from other productions in trailers is common practice.

| The Awesome One | Realy? I honestly have never been aware of that. Then my new question is, wouldn't Paramount ave to be affiliated with Stargate in some way to use the music? You see, I'm ot a huge fan of Stargate, so I really know nothing about the production end of it. Is it owned by Paramount?

| Religious Fanatic | Nope, MGM. Though Stargate has featured several Trek actors and some references. Let's list the actors, just for shits and giggles: Marina Sirtis Rene Aberjononononononis Robert Picardo The guy who plays Barclay Jolene Blalock John Billingsley There might have been others but I can't remember them right now. Oh, and sometimes Bean, I just want to take your ass and plow ![]()

![]() | No. The production pays a license fee to use the music in their trailer. It's very rare for a movie trailer to have music from the actual movie in it - simply because when they're editing the trailers, oftentimes the score for the movie isn't complete. The trailer for "Star Trek: Nemesis" had music from Danny Elfman's score for the "Planet of the Apes" remake. "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" had music from "Requiem for a Dream." The "Mighty Ducks" movies used the theme from "Back to the Future." Basically, they look at music they think will fit the tone and style of their trailer and movie for the trailer... but that music won't actually appear IN the movie. Check this website out: www.soundtrack.net It lists the composer or artist that the music is from in trailers for just about any movie you can think of.

| It's me again | Bean, I think he's paying you a complement....He finds you...well...delicious. Quite frankly, don't we all. I think it's all that melted butter you've been slathering all over your nether region. I had a friend of mine who is a chef, and he said that he didn;t believe in low fat cooking because everything tastes better with butter. Not that I am propostioning you Bean, just repeating the comment. Mmmmmmmm....butter,,,,<drool>
