Another good Smallville episode When I first saw the episode description, I thought it sounded like it was going to be a stupid episode. But, between the Lex/Lionel dynamic, the straining of Clark/ Lex's friendship, and the mythos, this episode really did a lot for me.
This episode was also littered with nice comic book references. Clark was draped in a red blanket, when he got up he flung it aside like a cape. Jonathan described a possible 'future Clark' as mild-mannered.
The side-plot with Chloe & Pete seemed unnecessary (have we been seeing signs that Pete's folks are splitting up? I hadn't thought so, but I figure I may be missing something).
What cemented the episode for me was Lex at the end. Lex parroting what will be his public motivation for trying to stop Superman. Traditionally, Smallville has had very well written endings, and this episode continued the tradition.
