| "It's a faaaake!" | It was an excellent show... but damn, why did Welsey have to die? Aside from Angel and Spike, he was the best damn character on the show. Any future TV movies would have needed Wesley. Gunn should have bought the farm instead.

![]() | Well, it didn't look like Gunn was long for this earth at the end, anyway. Strangely, I found Fred's death earlier in the season more emotionally affecting than Wesley's. Perhaps it was the performance, I dunno. Her's seemed to grab me more.

| Astro-Monkey | I would have liked some closure. Any closure. It was a good episode, but a series finale? Anyway, I have to agree with Brikar. Fred's death was much better than Wesley's. And, the only thing I really liked about Wesley's death was Fred's "return".

![]() | Well, from what I've read, this was the ending they were going to go for and then close things up next season. When they heard they were being cancelled, Joss actually went and made it MORE of a cliff-hanger to piss off the WB a bit.

| Astro-Monkey | Yeah, but it pissed me off, too. I was gonna go out and buy the Season 3 DVD, but now I'm not sure I want to invest so much time in a show I know doesn't have any closure. Unless they really blow me away with the TV movies...

| The Awesome One | And after reading all the spoiler in this thread, I feel like the best parts of the show have been ruined for me. Damn, why can't I pay attention to those damn spoiler warnings.... ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() | Go out and buy Season 3 anyway. Whether you feel the show as a whole had good closure or not shouldn't keep you from enjoying it. The "closure" for this episode was more thematic than it was plot-driven - the whole thing was about continuing to fight the good fight, not winning. They knew winning wasn't possible, but they were always going to go on fighting. So in that sense, it's perfectly fine. I think what's really bothering us all is that we feel cheated of a badass, slam-bang battle, rather than true "closure." And you could always do what I do: make up the ending. For me, the remains of the Fang Gang rushed forward, kicked as much ass as they could..... and then was SAVED BY A GIANT ARMY OF SLAYERS. But that's just me. ![]()
